At the end of every lease term, the furniture that was rented is fully evaluated with an exhaustive inspection checklist that makes the word "rigorous" seem understated. Every item is cleaned, steamed, repaired, reupholstered, touched up and graded again to determine its condition, which must be Grade A showroom quality to be rented.

Long before it is no longer in condition to be used again, we move our furniture to one of our CORT Retail Clearance Centers to be sold. This is part of the "circle of life" of furniture at CORT. By not waiting until the furniture can no longer be used, where the only solution is to become waste in our landfills, we are protecting the environment.

We move nearly 25% of our rental inventory every year to our Retail Clearance Centers, enabling us to continuously refresh our rental inventory and provide consumers with gently used furniture at hard to beat prices.
